Katharina Fritsch Art

Katharina Fritsch (born 1956) is among the most important visual artists working today. Her work is included in many public and private collections. More than simply sculptures, Fritsch creates three-dimensional images, energetic presences in space that toy with humanity’s primeval conceptions, desires and fears. With their succinct visual vocabulary, works such as ‘Warengestell mit Madonnen’ (Display Stand with Madonnas, 1989), ‘Tischgesellschaft’ (Company at Table, 1988) and ‘Elefant’ (Elephant, 1987), which are among the roughly 80 objects comprised by the comprehensive retrospective alongside many new pieces, remain firmly anchored in the memory of the public.
